 Workshops & Events

Learning and experiencing art is what we at Artsworth do. By providing unique workshops to our community members, whether they are children, teenagers, or adults, we are able to open the doors to creativity and show all who wish to learn about the beauty of crafting high quality work with your hands and heart. Workshops are held at 25 Pine Street and range from learning about how to manipulate molten glass to how to solder metal to how to sculpt out of clay or fiber. Our goal is to remain open to suggestions and ideas of how to meet the interests and needs of our community by providing a space for all teachers to share their craft with students of all ages. We hope that if you have a great idea that you wish to share with others, that you will come to Artsworth, share our space and share with us. Below you will find a list of current offerings: check back as our list is always changing! Teach a workshop!

Jackie Ottino Graf is a colorful fiber artist with lot's of professional and creative experience, this is her dying with natural materials "101"course. If you have ever wondered how in the world one can make so many amazing colors naturally, this is the class for you.  Everything is included, (600 yards of merino yarn, all dyes and equipment, handouts etc). At the end of a fun and informative day,  you will go home with a stash of small skeins of yarn in each color.

We will go over proper fiber preparation and mordanting techniques for both safety and vibrancy.  While natural dyes can be used on all types of fiber, we will be focusing on wool yarns in this workshop.

Please bring a lunch, any note-taking materials you may wish, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Please also bring a plastic bag or container to bring home wet yarns.

🙂 Dyeing has an element of waiting, so feel free to bring along some handwork, like knitting or spinning to do while you visit and wait!

Cost is $150. PLEASE Call 207-664-0222 to register.
