Join us for our monthly movie night - this classic movie is a hoot! If you are interested in how language connects us, how people can connect across cultural divides, and  you like "rom coms" come see this movie from 1941 and  returns to the realm of Gary Cooper as a doddering professor  and Barbara Stanwick as a gangster's maw, Sugarpuss" O’Shea... the rest is an adventure to remember!!  Loosely based on the tale of Snow White ...

  • The Scholars: Seven quiet, ivory-tower professors—loosely inspired by the seven dwarfs—live together in a Manhattan mansion while writing a comprehensive encyclopedia. [1, 2]

  • The Slang Search: Linguistics professor Bertram Potts (Gary Cooper) realizes his chapter on modern American slang is hopelessly outdated. [1]
